Yesterday the waterfront was bustling! H2 and P5 went seining in the bay - catching loads of fish and other things in their nets for a closer inspection before, of course, releasing it all back into the Bay. H3 and H7 went canoe swamping - It's like regular canoeing but extra fun because they use buckets (and a little luck) to try and sink each other. P3 did their ice breakers and getting to know you games in the Bay. H4, H5, H6, H8 and H11 all attended a super hero bonfire at the beach last night. Some campers sculpted a beautiful mermaid in the sand and others enjoyed peanut butter s'mores.
The Craft Shop and Low Ropes were really busy too. H1 went dragon hunting on the low ropes course and scaled the Climbing Tower to save Princess Lauren (one of our Adventure Staff). P1 made windchimes out of clay and P6 glazed tiles at the Craft Shop. P2 learned about Biblical Stories of Hope on the Low Ropes Course. P4 walked the Highway of Hope - a mandatory Christian Education Activity. It's made up of 4 stations around camp that explore hope and prayer.
H9 and H10 sang their hearts out on a hayride last night. P7 made pickles with Paul and Drue at the Environmental Center and had a drum circle with out Outside Crew Chief, Jack last night in the alumni plaza. The Adventure Pathfinders (APF) watered and fed our chickens yesterday and cooked out breakfast.
Today is supposed to be a hot one - but never fear! Our delightful Dining Hall Supervisor, Darryn is setting up cold water stations around camp today to help us all keep cool and hydrated. We are also excited to welcome our Advisory Committee to Camp this afternoon. They will get to tour camp before their meeting and join us all for dinner tonight.
I hope your day is just as JOYFUL!
peace-
